THE ESTEEMED PRIORITY

Logline: The Esteemed Priority is a short, animated film using silhouette puppets on a journey that shows how to truly love?

Treatment: The Esteemed Priority is a short stop motion animated film using silhouettes in the classic tradition of the filmmaker Lotte Reiniger. It’s a story as old as time but just as timely. In today’s world where the chaos of hate, prejudice, and racism is everywhere we ask the questions, “what is love? Is what we call love, really love? How do you know? Is there a means to measure or determine if we truly love something or someone?” Yes, there is a way, and this makes love – the priority of highest esteem. A man went on a journey….

This film was done in the tradition of the German filmmaker Lotte Rieniger. She pioneered silhouette animation in the 1920s. Her most famous film was “Prince Achmed” which is believed to be the first feature length animated film.

TARZAN: LORD OF THE LOUISIANA JUNGLE & TARZAN OF THE APES

Our feature length documentary Tarzan: Lord of the Louisiana Jungle and our re-edit of the original 1918 silent film Tarzan of the Apes can be seen on Amazon Prime. The documentary tells the story of the making of this Tarzan film in Morgan City, Louisiana. It is quite an interesting story of mystery and adventure. Through the years the original film had been edited so much that it was all out of sequence when we got a digital version. We recut it to follow the book by Edgar Rice Burroughs and added an entirely new orchestral score written by Kermit Poling. I’m very happy for the response we’ve had from around the world.

THE HOLE STORY

Many years ago, I wrote and illustrated a little book and produced a short film called The Hole Story. It is about a man with a big physical “hole” in his chest. He sets out on a journey to find a way to fill up that emptiness. The book and film have gone into many countries around the world.

THE CAT’S MEOW

The Cat’s Meow was a short film made using PAPER CUT OUTS. 70 GEN 4 ANIMATION STUDENTS divided into 25 classes designed, videoed, voiced, and edited a twenty-minute comedy/horror movie about people dying after seeing one too many cat videos on social media. Each class worked independently without knowing what the other classes were doing. The result was very cool.
